SUPPORTING CHILDREN AND PARENTS
The Child and Parent Support project (CAPS) started in 2004 as a pilot initiative in the Southern Health and Social Services Board area (now Southern Trust) funded by the Children’s Fund in conjunction with NIACRO. The Project is managed by Martina McCooey who is seconded from the Youth Justice Agency.

MAKING AN IMPACT ON CAR CRIME
The Youth Justice Agency was recognised for its work in helping to combat car crime at the recent Criminal Justice Awards ceremony. At the ceremony William McGowan received the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Tackling Youth Crime’ award on behalf of the Youth Justice Agency for his work on the IMPACT Project.

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE – WORKING WITH ANIMALS
Community Services projects are always on the lookout for opportunities for young people to become involved in worthwhile activities. East Belfast has found its relationship with the Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary to be particularly successful.
