Agency supports Belfast Children's Festival Volunteers ( 4/06/2010)
The Youth Justice Agency has provided support to the Belfast Children's Festival for the second successive year.Organised by Young at Art, the Festival for 0-14 year olds ran from 21-30 May at several venues across Belfast. In addition to providing sponsorhip for the Volunteers programme, young people engaged with the Agency also volunteered during the Festival in a Weekend held in the Waterfront Hall.
Youth Justice Agency Chief Executive Bill Lockhart said: "Volunteering is a great way of engaging with local communities and the Youth Justice Agency is delighted to support the Belfast Children's Festival volunteering scheme for the second successive year. Our own volunteers found the experience very enjoyable and rewarding. As well as acquiring an accredited qualification, volunteers also achieve a great sense of personal satisfaction which can open doors to further training and employment opportunities."
