Incident at Woodlands Juvenile Justice Centre (22/02/2007)
A young person escaped from Woodlands Juvenile Justice Centre this afternoon (22/2/07) at approximately 3.15pm. He was subsequently apprehended by the PSNI at approximately 4pm. A full inquiry is being carried out by the Centre Director into the incident.Criminal Justice Minister, David Hanson MP, has spoken to the Chief Executive of the Youth Justice Agency and has asked for a full report on the incident.
David Hanson, “I am extremely concerned about what has happened today. I have spoken to the Chief Executive of the Youth Justice Agency and have asked for a report to be with me as soon as possible and tomorrow morning at the latest. I will be looking at the steps needed to ensure that we take all actions to prevent this happening again.”
