WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES?
The Youth Conference Officer will be in contact with you as soon as we know you have not stuck to the Plan and you will be told to get back starting on it.
If you don’t stick to it again, the Youth Conference Officer will arrange a meeting with yourself, your family and the people you agreed to do voluntary work with, or anyone else you have let down because you have not stuck to your part of the Plan.
If you show you are not going to stick to or fully commit to the Plan we will tell the Prosecutor, who may then prosecute you. If the Court made a Youth Conference Order the Court can sentence you again.
The Youth Conference Plan is a serious agreement to be given to the victim, your family and others that you are willing to change and make up for the hurt you have caused them.
Coming to a Youth Conference meeting is the first step you have made to show others and yourself that you are willing to make amends and change.
It is a good step forward to making things right. It is the next step for you to a better future.
